2026 on the move: trade fairs, events and international dialogue

  • Press

The year 2026 for Meccanostampi began with a clear conviction: in order to continue to provide value to clients’ projects, it is not enough to keep up, one must stay within the flow of innovation.

That’s why the new year is also playing out outside the factories, between international trade fairs, technical events and moments of discussion with partners and customers in Europe.

From technical molding of polymers to industrial metrology toelectromechanical and light/domotics, the 2026 calendar has become a veritable “widespread laboratory” in which to observe trends, field test technologies, and translate what we see into concrete choices for our departments.

Swiss Plastics Expo 2026: kicking off the exhibition year.

The trade show year kicked off in Lucerne with Swiss Plastics Expo 2026, January 20-22, the first major European plastics and engineering plastics event of the year. The fair brought together some 200 national and international exhibitors and focused on innovation, sustainability and new process technologies.

For Meccanostampi it was an opportunity to be present, through a partner, as part of a supply chain that looks at technical plastics not only in terms of performance, but also in terms of efficiency and responsibility.

A way to compare ourselves with solutions and applications akin to our own, and see how emerging trends can be integrated into our molding lines and co-design projects.

Oberkochen Jan. 20-21: quality that speaks the ZEISS language

Almost in parallel with Lucerne, on January 20-21, 2026, a Meccanostampi delegation participated in the ZEISS European event at the company’s headquarters in Oberkochen, Germany: two days dedicated to industrial metrology, 3D measurement solutions, optical and X-ray technologies, and data analysis software.

It was not just about “seeing instruments,” but about engaging with those who, like ZEISS, set the standard in dimensional quality. This event will also give rise to our in-depth discussion dedicated to “quality that speaks the ZEISS language,” in which we will tell in detail how metrology fits into our integrated quality system, from sampling to series.

KPA Ulm 2026: the “living room” of technical plastics

Next on the agenda is KPA – Kunststoff Produkte Aktuell in Ulm, scheduled for February 25-26, 2026. This is a specialized trade fair designed for those who design, purchase and use plastic components, with a strong focus on molding solutions, product design and system and service providers for the manufacturing industry.

For Meccanostampi, KPA is an ideal context for:

  • engage with OEMs and product developers seeking partners for complex technical plastic projects;
  • closely observe application solutions on sectors close to us (automotive, electromechanical, household appliances, lighting engineering);
  • strengthen positioning as a partner that can follow the path from co-design to finished part, integrating molds, stamping, automation and quality control.

It is not just a showcase: it is a place to talk concretely about geometries, technologies, materials, tolerances, development time and reliability of supply.

Coiltech Germany 2026: technical plastic inside the electromechanical

In March, the focus will shift to Augsburg, with Coiltech Germany 2026 (March 25-26, 2026), an international trade fair dedicated to the coil winding industry, electric motors, transformers, generators and the entire electromechanical supply chain.

For Meccanostampi, it is a natural context: many of the components we develop-in electromechanics and electronics-live inside motors, drives, and energy conversion and management systems. Coiltech is therefore the right place to:

  • understand how the needs of those designing engines and components for electrification are evolving;
  • Evaluate new solutions to reduce weight, optimize footprint, and improve thermal and mechanical reliability of plastic components;
  • Strengthen relationships and partnerships on projects where technical plastics become part of complex systems.

After the positive experience of Coiltech Deutschland 2025, returning to the fair in 2026 is a natural step to give continuity to this dialogue.

Light+Building 2026: evolution of a strategic sector

There is also room in the 2026 calendar for a key event in the world of lighting andbuilding automation: Light+Building 2026, scheduled for March 8-12, 2026, in Frankfurt.

Manufacturers of lighting fixtures, control systems, sensors, smart building solutions and energy management meet here. For Meccanostampi, visiting Light+Building means:

  • Take a close look at how the forms, functions, and requirements of luminaires and connection systems are changing;
  • Identify new needs in terms of materials, surface finishes, electronics integration and regulatory requirements;
  • bring into the dialogue with customers the experience of what we see “downstream,” on finished products designed for international markets.

It is an important building block for continuing to develop plastic components that fit coherently into increasingly intelligent and efficient systems.

Fairs, events, establishment: a single trajectory

Swiss Plastics Expo, the ZEISS event, KPA Ulm, Coiltech Germany, Light+Building: at first glance they may seem like different contexts, with different focuses. In reality, they tell the same trajectory:

  • plastics & process: how technologies, materials and molding cells are evolving;
  • quality & metrology: how to measure, control, and demonstrate compliance in an increasingly structured way;
  • applications & markets: how the needs of automotive, electromechanical, electronics, appliance, lighting are changing.

For Meccanostampi, attending these events is not an exercise in attendance, but a piece of the way we work: listening, observing, comparing, selecting what makes sense and bringing it back to the plant in the form of pilot projects, plant choices, process updates.

The starting point, however, is one: a 2026 in which fairs and events are not a parenthesis, but an integral part of our industrial growth path.
